Girly Concerns

The bride is going to spend a largish part of the rest of the time before the wedding devoting herself — for perhaps the first time in her life — to thinking about hair, nails, makeup, etc. Any female guests of the wedding who would like to join her or help in this new and different endeavor are welcome. Male guests are not excluded, but unless they enjoy pondering eyeshadow colors, they might want to avoid the scene. The flowers pictured here may well be on order and are candidates for hair flowers; makeup lessons on Newbury street are a possibility; a trip to get a manicure will definitely happen. Anyone who knows the secret of how to keep hair from frizzing for ten hours is more than encouraged to share their knowledge.

The bride wants at all costs to avoid being a Bridezilla who seeks to control what anyone wears — no matchy matchy bridesmaids at this wedding. However, if anyone is undecided about what to wear, keep in mind that the venue has a very strong color scheme of blue, white, creme and dark burgundy red, and this color scheme will also be adopted in flowers, bouquets, and decorations. Therefore, if you want to blend in, stick to the neighborhood of these colors. If you want to stand out, by all means wear signal orange. No one will stop you or complain. Just be advised what the effect will be.
