The groom is now a graduate student at MIT, working with Gerald Sussman on "The Art of the Propagator". He is in the home stretch of his thesis work, which he is valiantly trying to finish at the same time as he handles the difficult business of getting himself hitched in proper style. His life is thus consumed by his impending transformation into both a husband and a doctor.
The bride graduated from MIT a while ago, and moved on to a life of solitary, self-directed research and deep thinking, funded mostly by freelance programming. The present furious activity of planning the wedding is symbolic of that life's evolution to meet the new demands of marriage.
